This Riesling, made of hand-selected grapes, is showcasing the characteristics of the red, sandy, slaty soil, called "Rotliegend". This unique and ancient soil can only be found at the Red Slope near Nierstein. It is one of the most famous sites in the world to grow only the best Rieslings. Only 85 cases made.
A dry, complex and medium-bodied wine with intense aromas on the nose, plush notes of apricot and honeydew, with a pronounced mineral flavor stemming from the unique terroir at the Red Slope. This wine has a refreshing acidity and is ideally paired with sushi, ceviche, moderately spicy food, meat with light sauces and soft, blue cheese.

The State Domain of Oppenheim is a unique winery with a rich history and various top sites representing the different soils typical to the region of Rheinhessen. These include five “Grosse Lagen”, producing “Grand Cru” quality wines.
The Domain specializes in Rieslings and Silvaners that are expressive of their terroir.
The historic winery also acts as an academy for vini- and viticulture.
